About this deal

and felt we got to see a larger amount of character development, likely due to the longer length of the book. just like “they both die at the end” this prequel has multiple narrators but the main ones are Orion and Valentino.

I did enjoy Orion and Valentino's storyline, but there were a lot of extra characters, some interesting, some not so much. The original was much better, the writing was better and the storyline itself, i cried every page at the original. As I said, it all felt too similar, too much the same as TBDATE, I mean why do we want to watch her try to figure out what app to develop when we already know what the app is? Adam Silvera uses his ample skill to force readers to examine how they live life now and how they want to live it. As long as you keep existing, you’ll keep breathing, and if you’re breathing, one day you’ll start living again. It's like all the tiny connections that we may never realize or understand, but we are all connected in one way or another. Orion Pagan has waited years for someone to tell him that he’s going to die, given his serious heart condition. Although this is the prequel, rather than the first in the series, 'The First to die' was my introduction to Adam Silvera and the DeathCast universe. It's the night before Death-Cast goes live, and there's one question on everyone's mind: Can Death-Cast actually predict when someone will die, or is it just an elaborate hoax? Agradezco a BookUp Mx por darme la oportunidad de leer este libro (ARC) antes de que salga públicamente.

I never give away spoilers and I'm sure this is going to be a fantastic best seller everywhere that many already have. Themes of friendship, love, loss, and fate combine in this novel that should be read with a box of tissues close at hand. I kinda feel like something switched with the titles because the reviews talk both about this book and about the other book, so hopefully I've properly marked the one I read. So, while this wasn't quite as powerful for me as the first book, I still really, really liked it and appreciate the characters and the heartfelt way Silvera told their stories. As with the first book, the ending was heartbreakingly beautiful and I genuinely hope to get more tales set in the world of Death-Cast.The things that they made time to do: the secret train station, the 9/11 memorial, the bridge… every single moment was a beautiful use of their short time together, which was so heartwarming. Orion and Valentino meet in NYC on the day Death-Cast launches, falling in love and helping each other figure out which one of them will truly die that day. When you find the sequel ‘alright’ and the prequel suddenly shatters your heart in a million pieces. It's the night before Death-Cast goes live, and there's one question on everyone's mind: Can Death-Cast actually predict death, or is it an elaborate hoax?

Silvera convincingly packs a budding romance, a romance in which you'll get quickly invested, into less than 24 hours. I will never get over this series and I will fight anyone who has anything bad to say about this or TBDATE. I especially enjoyed how the incidental characters are weaved into the story - even though it's not immediately obvious how important they may be. I literally guessed everything that was going to happen and I was still heartbroken and shocked when it actually did. It's too long, and we could have done without some of the extraneous POVs because they didn't really add anything meaningful to the story. It's a whopper at 550 pages long, but having said that chapters are very short and it's a surprisingly quick read. And though there were some pretty dark elements and hard-to-get-through-moments, this is still ultimately a love story with a lot of heart. Silvera continues to masterfully integrate diversity, disability, and young queer voices into an appealing story with a lot of heart. That said, it's totally worth reading but NOTE: Even though this is a prequel, you still want to read it second. If They Both Die at the End broke your heart and put it back together again, be prepared for this novel to do the same.
