After spending several weeks with the Klipsch R-51PM, we came away impressed with the package Klipsch put together. Selecting EQ provided bass boost of +5dB at 70Hz at low volume (1 Watt out, 1V in) to lift deep bass and add a little warmth by lifting the lower midband. The blue-tooth is a big bonus for me since I listen to my audio book while on the treadmill and I was using a battery powered mobile speaker for that. In smaller rooms, for which the R- 51PMs are designed, and near-wall placement they will better match work with room modes to give a balanced result that avoids room boom.In equal power mode, you'll hear these differences in loudness as they naturally occur between speakers.

One thing I wasn't expecting was the remote, for the computer I can mute and control the volume from my keyboard so I didn't think it would be a benefit to me. You may already have the question answered, but just in case: you should be able to connect your receiver to the speakers via optical input (requires optical cable). I like streaming tunes while I'm reading or doing light housework, but that's not all the RP-51PMs can do — not by a long shot. I have a smaller set of near-field monitors that I love, but I think I'll move those to the desktop next to my computer.
