The way the story flows, specially the way the film is directed, it just sets it apart from the rest. Applause to the director.

I paused, so many times while watching, that I lost count. Not a lot of jumpcase, but a whole scene where you can see how its happening. That what makes it more scary. Loved that. In response to Coronavirus (COVID-19), additional safety and sanitation measures are in effect at this property. And the many other ghosts that haunt Gonjiam’s abandoned halls are the victims of the psychotic doctors and murderous owner. While the hospital is closed for the living, the former patients of Gonjiam are trapped forever in the place where they met their gruesome end.

These Internists Are Accepting New Patients

The story itself is pretty standard, 7 young "ghost hunters" enter an old insane asylum, mainly for views and profit, which makes it more realistic than other similar movies. The pacing of the movie is pretty slow, and nothing really happens for the first half, but it's worth it!

In 1982 the Gonjiam Psychiatric Hospital (or 곤지암 정신병원 / Gonjiam Namyang Neuropsychiatric Hospital) was established outside Gyeonggi-do, South Korea by a Mr Hong. The original building was just over 11,000m² and spread across three floors. Sometime during the early 1990s, an additional two buildings were added, which increased the size by another 500m². A short time later in July 1996 the hospital closed and was left abandoned and unmaintained for over two decades. Rewatch Value 9.5 Watching horror movie is one of my favorite things. But often I find movies with the same story line & plot. Not really bringing something new to table.
