The aim of the driving theory test is to prove your knowledge of the rules of the road. It’s necessary to pass this before you can take the practical driving test. You take them as a single test and you need to pass both of them to pass the test. What do I need to study?

If you see red lights flash on a signal in the central reservation or on the side of the road and showing lane closed sign, you MUST NOT go beyond the signal in any lane. The most vulnerable road users are pedestrians, particularly children, older or disabled people, cyclists, motorcyclists and horse riders. Many of the principles within the Official Highway Code are legal requirements, and if you disobey these rules you’re committing a criminal offence When crossing the road, look out for traffic turning into the road, especially from behind you. If you have started crossing and traffic wants to turn into the road, you have priority and they should give way. The test will cater for the type of vehicle you’re applying for a licence for. So if you’re taking the test for a motorcycle, some of the questions will be specific to motorbikes. How many questions are in the theory test?
