About this deal

Our choice for the best genuinely wireless Bluetooth thermometer is the Meater+. All other models have wires, so it was a non-contest really. The Bluetooth range can be also be affected by your own mobile device’s ability to receive a signal. I’ve tested the wireless range of the TP-25 with my 8-year-old iPad, an iPhone 7, and a Google Pixel 2 phone.

This is on par with the TP-25 and two to three times farther than the other Bluetooth meat thermometers on this list. Mobile App Many meat thermometers are actually designed to be left in the oven or grill and are resistant to fairly high temperatures. The best way to know is to read the specs and instructions of your chosen thermometer, ensuring that its materials are heat-resistant and can withstand long stints in the oven, smoker, or barbecue grill. The controller is weather-resistant, too, so a little splash of sauce, beer, or rain won’t lead to damage.Decibel rating of the alarm: When applicable, we considered how audible the alarms were. This is key for knowing when your meats have reached the desired temperature or when it's time to adjust your fire. The Weber iGrill 2 Bluetooth thermometer has four probe ports, one for ambient grill temperature and three for meat. The thermometer handles temperatures between -22 °F (-30 °C) to 572 °F (300 °C), which is the typical range for meat thermometers.

The ThermoWorks signals is often mentioned as being for commercial, professional cooks. But it is expensive and probably a little too much for the average occasional BBQ cook, but you do get what you pay for. Read on, and you’ll see why.

More From Thermometers

The smartphone app is well designed, well thought out, easy and intuitive to use, and in my experience so far, has a stable connection, unlike many offerings in the BBQ world that tend to suffer occasional disconnection. The long, slow process of smoking meat relies heavily on temperature monitoring, which is why we love the performance of this smoking-specific thermometer from Thermoworks. It features two stainless-steel probes—one to monitor the temperature of the pit, and the other to monitor the temperature of the meat. The base unit can even be paired with multiple receivers so you can equip an entire BBQ pit team. They also have a temperature range of up to 572 degrees Fahrenheit and the cables are heat resistant up to 716 degrees Fahrenheit.

There’s a lot of things you can customize in the settings. There’s a timer, hi and low-temperature alerts, real-time graphing, and historical graphing. The Carbon Lite will save your most recent cook’s temperature charts for you to reference later. If you're willing to give up some of the TP20's more advanced features, such as presets, ThermoPro also offers its TP08S Digital Wireless Meat Thermometer, which has the same wireless range and temperature range but costs a little less. We tested this thermometer and found it to be a satisfactory alternative to pricier models. Though it doesn't have fancier options like presets or a Bluetooth connectivity, it still gets the job done. The alarm is persistent and audible enough to get your attention, even when using outdoors. For the price, it's absolutely worth it, especially if you don't need a model that is particularly heavy-duty. For tech-lovers who are into grilling, this sleek thermometer gives you plenty of control through an app on your smartphone. It is equipped with four probes that can be individually monitored through your phone, making it easy to cook multiple cuts of meats at once. It has an array of presets that you can use depending on what type of meat you're cooking, as well as the ability to customize settings as you wish. Also, Wi-Fi thermometers can connect to the same network as your computer and smartphone, making it (potentially) viewable all over the house and beyond using your phone. Maximizing Your Bluetooth Thermometer’s PerformanceThis app has everything you would want except interactive graphs and cook history. If you want those features then a WiFi meat thermometer is your best bet. However, it’s a well-thought-out, good-looking app that shows you the data clearly, with settings that are easy to find and intuitive to use. Inkbird is a rather large company that produces a lot of temperature measuring devices from thermostats and humidity controllers to thermometers and sous vide devices.

We tested this thermometer in our Lab and found it to be mostly straightforward to set up, with a little bit of a learning curve to get to know how to adjust its settings. First and foremost, we loved how accurate the thermometer is—it comes calibrated with an accuracy of ±2 degrees Fahrenheit straight from the factory. We also really like that you can easily hear the alarm thanks to its four volume settings. But where this really shines is if you rotisserie too. Wired probes cannot be used with a rotisserie, whereas the Meater can. Key specs – Size: 4 x 3 x 38cm (WDH); Leave in oven: No; Features: AAA batteries included; Weight: 120g Of the many tens of different thermometers I have owned, used, tested, and reviewed, the original Fireboard thermometer used to be my favorite. That was until they released this version 2! We thoroughly tested this twice, and it's hard to find any faults. The two thermometers in one probe proved accurate at reading internal and external temperatures, while the app proved unique tones and a wide range of alarms. One issue was the Bluetooth range didn't hold up to the full range due to regular suburban obstructions, and once the signal was lost, it took a few extra beats for it to reconnect to the phone.I must admit I was skeptical of this company because of the unfamiliar name. However, if you do a little research, they are pretty legit.
