Dinosaur Sanctuary - Wikipedia

Despite being the smallest dinosaur park in Japan, Dinoland has the second-largest hadrosaur, and 3 out of the 4 largest megatheropods. The manga takes a realistic viewpoint of the parks. It does show a dinosaur eating a deer carcass, fair warning. You watch dinosaurs hatch from eggs and be treated for medical conditions and everything felt plausible. Our protagonist, Suma Suzume, and her fellow zookeepers find themselves dealing the struggles of keeping their failing dinosaur zoo in good shape and making a profit while also making sure the dinosaurs themselves are well-cared for. The struggles our characters face are very similar to what real-life zookeepers must face when working at zoos and theme parks such as SeaWorld. While these real-life topics can be rather grim, Dinosaur Sanctuary never becomes outright pessimistic, keeping up a fairly optimistic tone that makes this manga fun to read. Dinosaur Sanctuary ( Japanese: ディノサン, Hepburn: Dinosan) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Itaru Kinoshita, with Shin-ichi Fujiwara serving as research consultant. It began serialization in Shinchosha's Monthly Comic Bunch magazine in March 2021; as of April 2023, four volumes have been released. There's a friggin triceratops named Masaru that loafs like a cat! I loved him so much, Masaru had to be my fave dino from the first volume. I kinda want a Masaru plush lol.The artstyle is absolutely gorgeous with a lot of detail for both the dinosaur and human characters, but enviroments also aren't forgotten. Probably my first proper foray into manga, and I'm loving it! It's basically what I've wanted to read about for a long time. Don't get me wrong, I liked both the first Jurassic park book (second one I still have to read) and the first two movies. (The jurassic world ones can go take a hike though.) But I also just want a dinosaur story that show's them off how they would behave realistically and how cool they are without all the gore. One that didn't focus on the horror aspect and how it's always just about dino and humans killing eachother. Or the those 2000's dino doc's that just focused on fighting? I think I hated those as a kid. Show me more of the daily life of dinosaurs, how they socialize, raise young and stuff, not just hunting and fighting. If you're looking for something similar, then I think Dinosaur Sanctuary is a good fit! Fifteen years ago, Kaidou-san works with an Allosaurus, which escapes and heads to the general visitors area.

Machine translation, like DeepL or Google Translate, is a useful starting point for translations, but translators must revise errors as necessary and confirm that the translation is accurate, rather than simply copy-pasting machine-translated text into the English Wikipedia. In January 2022, Seven Seas Entertainment announced that they licensed the series for English publication. [4] Volume list [ edit ] No.

Each species also has a different level of danger so you have to be a higher player level before you can care for the more “dangerous creatures”. If the creature is too dangerous, it will be indicated on their portrait in the Enclosure and you can’t place it until you reach the appropriate player level. If the concept of a dinosaur zoo reminds you of a certain film franchise, well, it’s almost impossible not to think of Jurassic Park while reading Dinosaur Sanctuary. The major difference is that in the manga, the park works like it was supposed to in the films: Rather than the carnivores escaping and attempting to eat the human beings, the suspense and drama of Dinosaur Sanctuary comes from the care of the perfectly secured dinosaurs. I was one of those dino-crazed kids who spent considerable amounts of their time wondering what the world would be like if there were still some dinosaurs around and we could go see them in a controlled environment such as, say, a zoo or something, so this series' premise sounded like targeted advertising when I first read it. The child in me is beside herself: this was a wonderful read and I loved it right from the first chapter. A school group comes to Dinoland and they have a Giganotosaurus feeding show. The announcer, Kaidou-San compares how the teeth of Giganotosaurus are like knives, and this makes one of the children cry out of fear. Suma Suzume, a new dino-keeper, helps calm the child down and tells them how birds are dinosaurs. Kaidou-San shows Suma Suzume around Dinoland. Suma Suzume says how since the incident, there was a huge gap between humans and dinosaurs, and she wants to bridge that gap.

Danica Davidson of Otaku USA praised the story, characters, and extra notes from Fujiwara, noting that " Dinosaur Sanctuarydoes a good job of making [dinosaurs] like animals with personalities, rather than monsters in a monster movie". [13] Jonathan Greenall of Comic Book Resources praised the tone and art style. Additionally, Greenall felt the series does a good job of describing how to care for animals. [14] J. Caleb Mozzocco of School Library Journal also praised the artwork and characters. Mozocco felt the plot was "[ Jurassic Park but] the park works like it wassupposed to". [15] After the Biosyn incident in 2022, the sanctuary was designated a global sanctuary by the United Nations, where the animals will live freely, safe from the outside world. Several research outposts are located around the valley, interconnected via an underground hyperloop system. a b 恐竜が絶滅しなかった世界を舞台に1人の新人飼育員を描く新連載、バンチで始動. Comic Natalie (in Japanese). Natasha, Inc. They develop gout because of kidey failure or have special dietary needs. This makes the dinosaurs not less interesting, but more interesting, as they are as complex and fascinating as current life on earth. The plot continues in part 2, where the park executives think about selling Masaru. Karin is opposed to this. Meanwhile, Suma Suzume finds Masaru's broken horn, and she and Karin start to make a little interactive area to not let the park executives sell Masaru. Their interactive area is an instant hit, and the park executives do not decide to sell Masaru

DINOSAURS ARE ALIVE! In 1946, a remote island was discovered where dinosaurs never went extinct. Through breeding and genetic manipulation, dinosaur populations increased and dino-mania reached a fever pitch worldwide...until a certain terrible incident occurred. Afterward, dinosaur reserves like Enoshima Dinoland fell on hard times. Enter Suma Suzume, a kindhearted rookie dino-keeper! Can she be the one to save Dinoland from extinction? This was really good! (Even though I was surprised by how scientific it was even if in hindsight the blurb obviously says that. LOL!)Hanako, a Tyrannosaurus has reached the age of 36, and Suzume, along with Kurumi-San and Kaidou, make a special birthday cake out of meat for her, as she doesn’t often leave her shelter. The special birthday cake works, allowing the crowd and Suzume to wish Hanako a happy birthday. There are certain dinosaurs that can and cannot be placed in a Sanctuary. If a dinosaur is on your strike team, you cannot place it in a Sanctuary. If you remove it from your strike team, you can then place it (as long as the creature is not too powerful for your player level). Note, I'm not that well versed in Manga, my experience coming mainly from reading Nausicaa and Junji Ito, but when I saw someone discussing this book somewhere, I knew I had to look into it. And it is a great story for dinosaur enthousiasts. Suzume meets the heads of the creature care departments in Dinoland, and starts to get ready to officially get her permanent assignment. Dinosaur Sanctuary is a manga made by Itaru Kinoshita, and the research consultant is Shin-Ichi Fujiwara. The synopsis is as follows:
